‘A wonderful player, unbelievable’: Klopp reveals he ‘really likes’ attacker after watching him play

Just over a month after winning the Champions League final in Madrid, courtesy of a 2-0 triumph over Totteham Hotspur, the Reds are now taking part in pre-season activities ahead of the start of another long campaign.

Liverpool were in action against Tranmere Rovers on Thursday evening as they won the friendly 6-0 without breaking a sweat.

It was an opprotunity for young attacker Paul Glatzel to impress the manager as he looks to secure a spot in the senior squad next season.

The 18-year-old showed off his quality, but the night ended on a bitter note for him after he suffered what appears to be a severe injury blow.

Glatzel had only came on at half-time and he was forced to be substituted in the 77th minute, due to an injury to his knee.

After reaveling his worry over the attacker’s injury, Klopp has expressed his admiration for the talent that Glatzel posseses, labeling him ‘a wonderful player’.

“Unfortunately Paul Glatzel got seriously injured, which is a shame. He is a wonderful kid, a wonderful player, unbelievable.” Klopp told the club’s official website

“The week we saw him [at Melwood] helped already, so when he is back he will be one of my boys because I really like what I saw.”
