David Neres, a player whom Liverpool have reportedly been pursuing along with rivals Chelsea and Arsenal, has revealed how he feels about the possibility of moving to the Premier League.
The Ajax star was a member of a dangerous Dutch outfit who defied the odds to reach the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League last season, where they were beaten by Tottenham Hotspur.
Like virtually every player from the successful Ajax team of last season, Neres appears to be on the radar of Europe’s major clubs and this summer might be a golden chance for him to elevate his career elsewhere.
In response to potential interest from other clubs, Ajax have decided to place a price tag of £80m (Liverpool Echo) on the player, who is currently on duty with Brazil at Copa America.
Nonetheless, Neres has admitted that moving to the Premier League is a dream for him, sending out an ecouragement to clubs like the Reds who have been linked with a move to sign him (the Sun).
Via Brazilian outlet Veja, Neres said: “When I’m in the national team, I try to stay focused, I’ll leave it aside with my agents.
“Of course, the Premier League interests me: it’s the best league in the world. I always had the dream to play there.”
