Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti has given a no nonsense statement about rumours which have unsettled the future of his star defender Kaldou Koulibaly at the club this summer.
The 27-year-old has become one of the most sort-after players in Europe after proving himself as a very reliable defender and consistent performer in the Italian top flight.
Despite having the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez at his disposal, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp might consider the chance to add more quality to his defence this summer.
Even though Liverpool’s record defensively was one of the best in Europe last season, the fact that the Reds missed out on the league title means there is room for improvement one way or the other.
Liverpool have been claimed to have held talks with Koulibaly’s agent, while Premier League foes Manchester City maintain hopes of an £85m deal to sign the defender.
But with speculation continuing to unsettle the defender’s future, Napoli boss Ancelotti has revealed that he might not even return to the club for the start of next season if Koulibaly is sold.
“If there is no Kalidou, I will not even come back from Canada.” Ancelotti said, as per the Express
