Frank Leboeuf launches attack on ‘cheat’ Luis Suarez

Former Chelsea and France defender Frank Leboeuf has lashed out at Barcelona star Luis Suarez for his antics in the clashes against Liverpool in the Champions League semifinal.

Suarez was brought to England by Liverpool in the winter of 2011 and he was a superstar at Anfield for a couple of years before he opted to join Barcelona in the summer of 2014 – only a year after sulking and nearly forcing a move to Premier League rivals Arsenal.

The South American striker faced his old club in the Champions League for the first time since his exit as Liverpool were paired with Barcelona in a much-anticipated tie.

Suarez opened the scoring in the first leg of the cup tie and he went on to anger the Reds faithful by celebrating at the Camp Nou, almost as if he had never worn the Liverpool shirt before.

On his return to Anfield, the ex-Ajax forward was once again a nuisance as he clashed with Andy Robertson on several occasions before injuring the Liverpool leftback.

Thus, Frank Leboeuf has lashed out at the Barca star for his continued approach of trying to cheat his way through games.

“I am a fan of Barcelona , but I was glad to see them eliminated on Tuesday because of Luis Suarez. I have no respect for a footballer like him,” he said told RMC Sport

“He’s a cheat and I hate the way he plays. If I had faced him, I would have done everything I could to get him off the pitch.

“What he did to Ghana at the World Cup, the two times he bit opponents. He’s a bad example for young people.”
