The agent of Liverpool’s target from last summer Nabil Fekir has revealed some key details over how the attacker nearly completed a move to Anfield.
The France international is yet to renew his contract with the Ligue 1 side, with only one year left on his current deal and that could open the door for a second attempt from Liverpool to lure him.
Nabil Fekir witnessed a switch to Liverpool fail to happen in the last minute last summer, even though the transfer had appeared well on course to be wrapped up.
Fans of the Reds will be wishing for Jurgen Klopp to get back in the transfer market this summer and hopefully make more efforts to bring the forward to the Premier League.
But what is more intriguing is the fact that Fekir was on the verge of being a Liverpool almost a year ago.
The Frenchman’s agent Jean-Pierre Bernes has revealed that Fekir actually passed his Liverpool medical despite talks that the Anfield side questioned his fitness as a result of recurring injuries to his knees.
“It is not about staying here,” he said, as per GFFN.
“And we will know maybe the real circumstances that prevented Fekir’s move to Liverpool.
“The knee was a part of it, but not only that. He had passed a medical, done photos with the Reds shirt…”
