‘It’s a tough one’: Green claims Liverpool star will not play again this season

Former England goalkeeper Rob Green has claimed that Liverpool star Adrian will be ditched by Jurgen Klopp as an option this season after his underwhelming show in the defeat to Chelsea on Tuesday.

Having lost their unbeaten streak in the Premier League on Saturday against Watford, the Reds were hoping to ease their woes with another victory which would have kept their run in the FA Cup going.

However, a forgettable night at Stamford Bridge saw Jurgen Klopp’s men concede twice to Chelsea with Adrian being culpable for at least one of the goals that the Blues scored.

The Spaniard has made 16 appearances in all competitions this season, with a lot of those games coming during the period that first-choice stopper Alisson was sidelined by an injury.

For Sky Sports pundit Robert Green, who once was a member of the England national team, Adrian has most likely played his last game of the campaign after that performance at Chelsea.

“He’s been brilliant when’s come in. He’s made a mistake tonight.” he said as per HITC

“When you lose in a defeat that’s one or two goals, and it is that goal which sets the ball rolling, it makes it worse.

“That’s season over, he’s going to have to sit and have a watching brief for the rest of the season. It’s a tough one to take.”
