Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that key defender Dejan Lovren will not be fit to feature in the game against Brighton.
The Reds have made a stable start to the new campaign, winning their opening two games of the Premier League season against West Ham and Crystal Palace.
Jurgen Klopp has not even had his strongest possible defense available during these early weeks of the new campaign, making the team’s record of back-to-back clean sheets look even more impressive.
The absence of Dejan Lovren is still noticeable though and ahead of the game against Brighton, the Liverpool boss has confirmed that his centre-back will remain out of action for the time being.
Dejan Lovren still not available.
Klopp: “He is not really around team training around at the moment. I am pretty sure no chance for the Leicester game. Hopefully ok after international break.”— Chris Bascombe (@_ChrisBascombe) August 24, 2018
Lovren was of course a decisive member of the Croatian squad which made it all the way to the final of the World Cup where they lost to France last month following their memorable run.
