Real Betis believe they can beat Liverpool to the signing of Dani Ceballos and are prepared to pay £14m to sign the Real Madrid youngster.
Betis sold the midfielder to Real Madrid last summer as part of a deal worth around £16m.
The European champions beat off a host of clubs to sign the Spaniard, including Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea.
As a mark of their expectations for Ceballos, Real inserted a €500m (£440m) release clause in the 21-year-old’s contract when he joined.
However, the youngster has failed to break into the first team at the Bernabeu and he is ready to leave already.
Liverpool have made contact with Ceballos about a move and are trying to persuade him to come to England.
But, according to AS, the Spain under-21 international is edging closer to a return to Betis.
The club are reportedly in talks with Real Madrid and they are confident of winning the race for Ceballos.
Betis believe the player wants to return to his former side and a fee of just £14m could get a deal over the line.
