Van Gaal advises Klopp target Matthijs de Ligt to join one of these clubs

Ex-Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has advised highly-rated youngster Matthijs de Ligt to join club who competing with the Reds this season.

Jurgen Klopp has any given any further details on his plans for the summer transfer window, but even if the Reds do win the title, some fans will back him to spend money in the transfer market.

De Ligt is a player whom almost all of European football’s biggest names have been chasing and it has been not surprise at all, due to his outstanding form with Ajax.

With the summer approaching, there might be a good chance for Klopp to make a renewed approach for the highly-rated youngster.

But speaking on where De Ligt’s probable destination should be, former Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal recommended other clubs instead of Liverpool for the wonderkid.

The 19-year-old will end up making his own decision but if he is to listen to Van Gaal, he might be getting the wrong advise.

“De Ligt at Juventus? I think De Ligt can play in any competition.” he told Ziggo Sport:

“In Italy, they are the masters of defence, so he can best develop there.

“If I had the chance I would go to Barcelona.

“They have central defenders who are not too good, so he will play there.

“Or I would go to Manchester City. I don’t think the central defenders are that great either, so he’ll play there too.”
