Roy Keane names the one Liverpool player he thinks is a ‘weakness’ in the line-up

Former Manchester United defender and Sunderland manager Roy Keane has picked out the player whom he believes is a liability in the current Liverpool team.

Jurgen Klopp has no doubt one of the best squads in Europe now, after seeing what his side did last season as they finished the Premier League campaign with 97 points before winning the Champions League crown.

However, there are occasions when Liverpool’s shortcomings have been exposed this season and in the last two home games against Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur, the Reds have been tested one way or another.

On Sunday, Dejan Lovren was given a chance to impress the boss, as he featured alongside Virgil van Dijk at the back against Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Within minutes after kick-off, Spurs were ahead as Son’s shot took a deflection from Lovren which later resulted in Harry Kane heading home the rebound off the woodwork.

For Sky Sports pundit Roy Keane, the Croatia international is perhaps the one player in the Reds’ starting eleven who can really be deemed as a liability.

“You talk about weaknesses in the Liverpool team, well I think Lovren will give you a chance,” Keane said, quoted by HITC

“He could have been a bit braver [with Tottenham’s goal], but we’ve seen that before from him.”
