Red Bull Salzburg boss Jesse Marsch has applauded the sheer quality shown by Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah in the vital Champions League win on Tuesday night.
Jurgen Klopp has done a great job of rotating his squad as needed this season, and with the fixtures coming thick and fast, the Liverpool boss tweaked his starting eleven a bit for Tuesday’s game.
Mohamed Salah, who played a very key role in the win at Bournemouth last Saturday, kept his place in the front three, with the Reds in desperate need of a win to secure a place in the next stage of the Europa League.
After Liverpool took the lead against Salzburg through a Naby Keita header, the game was still not sealed until Salah scored the second with an outrageous effort.
The Egyptian star found the net from an almost impossible angle and that has seen him receive praise from the opposition’s coach, Jesse Marsch.
“In the end they showed their quality,” said Marsch, as per HITC
“Salah’s goal was unbelievable.
“It was like a heavyweight fight. We punched them but then they punched us twice more.
“We knew that we needed our best performance so far and that was our best performance. We are very disappointed. Until we conceded, we probably couldn’t have played any better.”
