Virgil van Dijk sends message to free agent after post directed to Liverpool fans

Jurgen Klopp opened the door for out-of-favour players to chose new their clubs, shortly after Liverpool defeated Tottenham in the final of the Champions League.

The post-season clear-out has seen the club deny Alberto Moreno the opportuinity to extend his stay at Anfield after the expiration of his contract at the end of June.

Following the decision over his departure, the 26-year-old has taken to social media to express his heartfelt gratitude to the Reds faithful, who watched him represent the club for five years.

In response to that, Virgil van Dijk has wished his best to Alberto Moreno, whom he briefly played with in the Liverpool defence.

Despite spending just over a year at the club with Moreno, Van Dijk has shown his good relationship with the Spaniard, calling him his ‘brother’ in Spanish in the Twitter message.

“Good luck and take care hermano [brother],” said van Dijk via his personal Twitter account

Moreno struggled to take advantage of the role of being Klopp’s first choice at left-back, prompting the Liverpool boss to sign Andrew Robertson as a permanent replacement.
