Why Liverpool have to lose at Bayern Munich on Wednesday – Sky Pundit

Former Manchester United full-back and current Sky pundit Gary Neville has advised Jurgen Klopp’s side to lose against Bayern Munich in the Champions League. The Reds travel to Germany after a hard-fought 0-0 draw at Anfield in the first leg.

Speaking in the aftermath of the Merseyside derby, Neville spoke about how difficult it would be for Liverpool to win the title if they were to beat the German Champions at the Allianz Arena.

Neville said in his podcast “I always thought that if Liverpool could win the league this season then they’d need a clean fixture list. I’m going to say it: go out against Bayern Munich.”

The former Valencia manager has emphasized the importance of the players being fresh and also claimed that the title race is a 50-50 prospect, despite Pep Guardiola’s side being on top.

Liverpool host Tottenham and Chelsea later this month and if they were to beat the German champions and progress, a two-legged tie would await either side of the visit of the Blues’ to Anfield.
