Worry for Klopp as vital Liverpool star suffers new injury blow ahead of Burnley

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has given the latest on the condition of key star Sadio Mane ahead of the visit to Turf Mooor on Wednesday.

Sunday saw a very late and bizarre goal from substitute Divock Origi snatch all of the three points for the Reds in a tough Merseyside derby at Anfield against Everton.

Manchester City’s incredible form means Liverpool are literally being required to win every game in order to maintain their pursuit of the Premier League title.

Sadio Mane in particular is a player who will be very key to Liverpool’s title chase but ahead of the trip to Burnley, the forward has been struggling with a new injury blow.

“Sadio and Robbo we need to have another look at today. Sadio really had an awful cut on his foot. It needed to be stitched; he is OK but walking around here now in flip-flops and you don’t play in flip-flops! That means in this moment he is not ready, but we will see later.” Klopp said

“With Robbo it is not that serious as with Sadio, but we need to have a look.”

Burnley have been in poor form for several months and the Reds will be keen on taking advantage and keeping up with City by earning another win on Wednesday.
