Liverpool will be playing at home again, after seeing off Wolves at Anfield last Sunday and Jurgen Klopp is expected to keep faith in Joe Gomez at the back for the Reds.
After returning from their successful involvement at the FIFA Club World Cup, Liverpool have bagged two wins in the Premier League against very tough opponents in Leicester City and Wolves.
The Reds were probably expected by rival fans to drop points in the league at his stage of the campaign due to the almost unbearable pile of fixtures.
However, Jurgen Klopp’s side have dealt very well with the busy festive period and the Liverpool boss is expected to hand a start once again to Joe Gomez, who is benefiting from the injuries to Matip and Lovren.
The 22-year-old was actually meant to be the ideal partner for Van Dijk when the Dutchman was signed from Southampton two years ago and his continued presence in the line-up could see him regain his spot for good.
