26-year-old close to deal to leave Liverpool with early contractual agreement expected

Liverpool are set to wave goodbye to Alberto Moreno after half a decade at Anfield with the defender closing in on a move to Italy.

Moreno had a decent start to his career at the club, but a string of erratic displays, one of which came in the Europa League final in 2016, limited his first team chances.

With only months left on his contract at the club, the Spaniard is close to securing a pre-contract agreement to join Lazio – the Independent has reported.

The 26-year-old was not offered a new contract at Anfield due to his declining quality with Jurgen Klopp rather maintaining faith in Robertson.

Moreno has only managed to start two games in the Premier League for Liverpool this season and his exit has been expected by most fans since last year.

The full-back is now on course for a chance to resurrect his career in the Serie A.
