26-year-old star has asked to leave Liverpool in potential blow for Klopp

Liverpool’s star forward Mohamed Salah has apparently informed the club that he is interested in leaving this summer, according to a report by Spanish outlet AS.

The 26-year-old only moved to Anfield less than two years ago in the summer of 2017, after a couple of fine seasons in the Italian topflight, following his decision to leave Chelsea for more playing time.

Salah has made his name in the Premier League as one of the top goalscorers over the last two seasons, leading the Reds to the Champions League final where they were defeated by Real Madrid last term.

The Egyptian star has been linked with a departure over the course of the season but those rumours had calmed down in recent months as the team focuses on winning the Premier League title.

Based on the report from AS though, Salah has actually asked to leave Anfield this summer, threatening to hand in a transfer request.

The rumour seems bizarre as it is coming at a time when the 26-year-old appears to be enjoying his football in Liverpool’s colours.

Interestingly, the Spanish outlet also claims Liverpool have agreed to sell Salah should he still feel the same way at the end of the season
