28-year-old still looking to sign for Liverpool and play under Klopp

Former Liverpool midfielder Phillippe Coutinho seems to be still hoping for a move to the club where he really made his name as one of the top playmakers in Europe.

Based on a claim by The Sunday World, Kia Joorabchian – the midfielder’s agent – has made it clear that Coutinho wishes to complete a move back to Liverpool, even if it means having to accept a pay cut.

Kevin Palmer’s report indicates that the Brazilian star has made a personal plea to Reds boss Jurgen Klopp as he looks to secure a return to Anfield.

This is not the first time Coutinho has been linked with a reunion with Klopp, but the fact that the South American is approaching the final peak years of his career means an Anfield return could be appealing.

Liverpool’s current starting eleven is still missing a true playmaker and the potential return of the Brazilian would add the needed craft to the midfield.

A look back at games like the 1-1 draw at Manchester United earlier in the season proves that the Liverpool does miss a creative force on certain occasions and there is no better man to provide that than Coutinho.
