BBC pundit claims ‘fabulous’ Liverpool ace will leave this summer, ‘hero worship’ may play part

Jurgen Klopp has already gotten rid of the likes of Alberto Moreno and Daniel Sturridge this summer and the Liverpool boss might not end it there with his clear-out of players who are not receiving enough game time.

Apart from those who have seen their contracts expire this summer, there are other players like Ryan Kent, whom Liverpool will be welcoming back from last season’s loan spell.

The 22-year-old spent last term at Rangers and he certainly enjoyed his football in Scotland, impressing the SPL club’s manager and ex-Liverpool star Steven Gerrard.

Kent has not been guaranteed a place in Jurgen Klopp’s squad for next season just yet, and perhaps, for his best interest, this might be the right time to leave again.

BBC pundit Danny Mills has already suggested that the winger is likely to spend another season away from Anfield – either on loan or on a permanent basis.

“I think Steven Gerrard has more sway than Marcelo Bielsa in this situation,” he told Football Insider.

“Kent did well at Rangers last season, Gerrard rates him highly and knows him from Liverpool. There is likely to be a bit of hero worship of Gerrard from the player.

“He had a decent time in Scotland last season and he is a top young player. Rangers want to sign him permanently or on loan, and I think they have a very good chance. He would be a fabulous addition to the Rangers squad. He has had a decent time in Scotland already, and it looks like another loan deal.”
