BBC pundit Robbie Savage has named Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk as the best in the world in his position.
Liverpool were criticized by some for spending too much money on a mere defender during the January transfer window as they purchased the Dutchman from Southampton in a record deal.
Van Dijk’s performances over the past six months though, have clearly suggested that he is worth every penny of the money which the club paid for his signature.
That has witnessed him labeled as the best in the world in his position by Robbie Savage, a compliment which many would have thought belonged to Mohamed Salah.
“Van Dijk is the best centre half in the world at the moment,” Savage told BBC Radio 5 Live.
The Liverpool defence in general, has conceded much fewer goals ever since the arrival of Van Dijk from Southampton.
