Former Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has made a surprisingly honest comparison between training at his old club and how things are at Juventus.
The Turkish midfielder was brought to Anfield by former Reds boss Brendan Rodgers in the summer transfer window of 2014.
Can went on to be a strong and combative enforcer in the midfield for Liverpool who later sacked Rodgers to replace him with Jurgen Klopp.
Even though he was getting minutes in the first team last season, Can’s links with a departure never went away and eventually he signed for Juventus in the summer of 2018.
The 25-year-old, who was lamented by some fans for leaving the club on a free deal, now has almost a year in Italy to look back on.
And in an interview, Can honestly revealed that he used to think training at Liverpool was tough but it is actually worse at the Serie A club.
“I already complained to Jurgen Klopp about the hard training in Liverpool! But the training here at Juventus is a bit tougher,” Can said, as per TeamTalk.
“We have to run even more, do more strength training. It was a big challenge for me at the beginning. But now my body has got used to it.
“He was disappointed [Klopp]. He wanted me to stay in Liverpool, but accepted my decision.
“He also knew that it was not a decision against him or against Liverpool, but for a new challenge at Juventus.
“I had a wonderful and memorable time in Liverpool and will always be grateful to all the people who have supported me there. I am still in touch with Jurgen Klopp.”
