Nabil Fekir, who registered a goal and an assist against Manchester City as Olympique Lyon secured a win at the Etihad Stadium in the Champions League on Wednesday, had to respond to whether his performance was a message to Liverpool.
After the Reds’ superb start to the new season, Liverpool fans are likely to satisfied with the quality of the squad assembled by Jurgen Klopp.
But it is no secret that Klopp was indeed chasing the signature of Nabil Fekir in the summer, a player who would have added more fire power to the Liverpool attack.
The Frenchman put in another brilliant display as Lyon snatched a surprise win over Manchester City on Wednesday and he was asked whether his performance was meant to send a message to Liverpool.
But Fekir remained tight-lipped over a so-called ‘revenge’ being sent to his suitors Liverpool, who came close to signing him last summer.
“Not revenge but I, er, want to prove that I am a good player but the most important [thing] is the group.” he said
