Ferguson claims Liverpool attacker will be top target for British club this summer

Former Rangers captain Barry Ferguson has claimed that Liverpool attacker Ryan Kent will be top of Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox ‘wanted list’ this summer.

This summer transfer window will be another chance for Jurgen Klopp to reshuffle his squad ahead of next season.

Some young players who might just not be happy with staying at the club may be handed an opportuinity to move out on loan or even seal a permanent transfer switch to a lower club who can promise them more playing time.

Liverpool’s young attacker Ryan Kent is believed to be on the radar of other clubs and that comes as no surprise at all.

In fact, Barry Ferguson is already tipping Kent to be targeted by Rangers this summer.

“I think that’s a key signing, I’ve got to be honest with you,” he told PLZ Soccer

“I think he’ll be at the top of Steven Gerrard’s wanted list. Whether that’s on a permanent deal or – obviously Steven Gerrard is going to have a good relationship with Liverpool – whether that’s back for another year on loan.

“When he went out on loan previously he struggled, but I’ve been really impressed with him. He can win games – [I] really like him as a player. He’s the right sort of character, as well.

“I’m hopeful that Rangers can get him back. Whether it’s a loan or permanent I’m not really bothered, as long as he’s playing in a Rangers jersey next season.”
