Gary Lineker gives verdict on Liverpool controversy and title race

BBC pundit Gary Lineker gave his verdict on the controversy from Liverpool’s game last Sunday as the Reds kept their push for the Premier League crown.

There were some fears that Jurgen Klopp’s men would drop some points away at Cardiff City, who were still battling against relegation from the Premier League.

The match was still evenly poised with the score at 0-0 at half time and even though some nerves were setting in, Liverpool still got the job done in the end.

After taking the lead, a foul on Mohamed Salah saw the Reds win a very decisive penalty which was dispatched by versatile midfielder James Milner.

There was much debate on social media about whether the foul warranted a penalty kick being given or not.

But Gary Lineker’s verdict was very simple. The BBC pundit believes it was a clear penalty kick and he went on to add that the title race will go down to the wire.
