Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has suggested that Liverpool’s summer signing Fabinho does not have enough pace compared to other man he is competing with for a place in the Reds’ midfield.
The Brazilian star moved to Anfield in the summer transfer window from AS Monaco as Jurgen Klopp attempted to add more depth to his midfield for the season.
Fabinho’s has not always been given the nod to start by the Liverpool boss and in fact in the beginning of the season, he had to wait for his chances to play.
The ex-Ligue 1 star has been competing with other midfielders like Jordan Henderson for a start over the course of the season as Klopp continues to guide his team towards title contention.
Speaking about the two players, Carragher admitted that Fabinho is naturally a slow player compared to Henderson even though the Brazilian may be deemed the better player.
“Fabinho can’t run. Jordan Henderson can run. But in that position Fabinho is better than Henderson. The way he reads situations, he snuffs things out more, even though he hasn’t got the legs of him.” he said, as per HITC
