Jurgen Klopp failed to make any major signings before the summer transfer window was closed but the Liverpool boss is feeling very optimistic ahead of the start of the season on Friday.
Back in the Liverpool squad is Naby Keita, who has been troubled by injuries over the past two months.
The 24-year-old saw his debut season at Anfield end early because of an injury he suffered towards the business end of the campaign.
While on duty with Guinea at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, Keita suffered another injury – a thigh problem this time – as he reported back to Liverpool for medical treatment.
After spending some time on the sidelines, the midfielder has returned to training with the Liverpool squad as he looks ahead to his second season at Anfield.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is particularly excited about the former Bundesliga star ahead of the new campaign, after revealing that he looks ‘completely different’ from how he did a year ago.
According to LiverpoolFC.com, Klopp said of the midfielder: “He looks completely different. This pre-season [he] looks completely different.
“He was now only the last two weeks in but you could see already that he’s much more settled in the team: completely different body language and everything is different. We expect a lot and he expects a lot – and rightly so.”
