Bruno Fernandes, a player who is being chased by virtually all of Europe’s major clubs, has made a telling admission about Jurgen Klopp’s side this summer.
The Portuguese midfielder has caught the eye of many suitors through his fine form over the last season in the colours of Sporting Lisbon.
Fernandes will eventually have to choose which side from the Premier League that he prefers to play for – if a transfer offer from England is placed in front of him – and his latest comments are encouraging for Liverpool.
The 24-year-old has written in his blog ‘De Cadeirinha’ (via Record) about the top teams in England and he has revealed that he is an admirer of the style in which Manchester City and Liverpool play.
To add to that, Fernandes – who is valued at £62m – also revealed that he likes Liverpool ‘a lot more’ in his analysis, picking out the aspects of the Reds’ football which makes him a fan of them.
“Guardiola has made the best of the players in the team, he knew that it was going to be difficult in England and he adapted, City plays, more or less, in the way of Barcelona, ??but not just because the championship is different, the intensity is different, the aggressiveness is different, the competition is different and he knew how to change it” he said, via the Record
“I like Liverpool a lot more, it’s a more direct (style of play), more offensive, maybe less organized, but more intense football, when you do not have the ball possession, you are more intense.”
“In Liverpool they are more individual players, especially in the midfield, usually playing three very aggressive players and recovering the ball, then they have three players at the front who are lethal”
