Jurgen Klopp has opted against signing any high-profile players so far this summer but with the transfer window not yet closed, many will be hoping the Liverpool boss has a surprise on the way.
Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale happens to be one of the biggest names on the list of available players this post-season after his turbulent year at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The former Tottenham Hotspur star has completely lost his place in the Madrid starting eleven and reappointed manager Zinedine Zidane has not shown any interest in keeping him at the club.
That has presented other big clubs in Europe a golden chance to land the services of the Welshman, who has been earning a whopping £500,000-a-week wages (Daily Star) in Spain.
Therefore, former Liverpool player Mark Lawrenson has backed Jurgen Klopp to sign Bale and resurrect the 30-year-old’s career.
“I think Klopp could get the best out of him,” he said, as per the Daily Star
“The only problem is would he fit into that front three but you could even play him on the left of the three in midfield and let him bomb on.
“He’s such a good player and such a talent. He just needs to be loved and Klopp would be the perfect fit to do that.
“People say he’s got injury problems and all that but Klopp would get him mega fit.”
