Klopp could sign World Cup winner for club-record transfer fee

Liverpool have been quoted what would be a club record transfer fee for the signature of target Ousmane Dembele by Spanish giants Barcelona.

Jurgen Klopp is in pursuit of the Premier League title this season after narrowly missing out on European glory as his side lost to Real Madrid in the Champions League final last term.

The Reds boss have been linked with a swoop for Dembele in the past and he now has another opportunity to make a move for the France international.

Barcelona have reportedly decided that the 21-year-old will be sold to Liverpool if their astronomical asking price of £100m is matched.

Dembele was brought to the Camp Nou as a replacement for Neymar who had been sold to PSG in the summer of 2017.

But after just over a year with the La Liga champions, the former Dortmund star, who has failed to hit the ground running in Spain, has been made available for sale.

Even though Barcelona are seemingly willing to sell Dembele, Klopp is reported to be reluctant to pay the hefty fee being asked for his services.
