Jurgen Klopp has confirmed a new injury problem for Liverpool after the game against Burnley with Joe Gomez set to be sidelined.
Liverpool have been doing well to keep up with league leaders Manchester City who beat Watford 2-1 on Tuesday, prior to the Reds’ trip to Turf Moor.
Despite going a goal behind against Burnley, Klopp’s men fought back with three goals as they secured a vital 3-1 win in the end.
There was one concern for Liverpool though as Joe Gomez succumbed to an injury during the first half of the game.
Jurgen Klopp did confirm after the game that the defender had indeed suffered a new injury blow with his ankle problem set to be checked.
“It was his ankle,” the manager said at his post-match press conference.
“Joe is injured and probably not only a little bit. We have to see, we don’t know in the moment. We sent him home.”
The Reds will be facing Bournemouth next in the Premier League while title rivals Manchester City face Chelsea on Saturday.
