Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has chosen the two players who helped the Reds improve this season, with the campaign now one game away from becoming history.
Klopp decided to spend well in the transfer market last summer as he secured the services of a new goalkeeper in Alisson to add to the marquee signing of Virigil van Dijk back in the winter.
Those new additions were deemed to be too much money being spent by the Reds but the level which Liverpool have reached in the Premier League and Champions League this season has justified the transfer moves from last summer.
Nonetheless, those signings alone cannot be enough for a team to be great and Jurgen Klopp has revealed that there are two more players in the squad who have contributed significantly when needed.
“Players such as Fabinho and Shaqiri are very important parts of the team, too. But then again, they are not at the top of their game, but they’ve made important steps in their development. The journey is not over, not for anyone.” he said, as per HITC
“This is why we feel like we are only at the start, and that there is still a lot to come.”
Klopp will be hoping his men do enough to finish off what has been an impressive season by lifting the Champions League trophy next month when they come up against Premier League foes Tottenham Hotspur.
