Klopp reveals important Liverpool star could miss Champions League final

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will have to make his most important starting line-up selection of the season when the Reds travel to Madrid to face Tottenham Hotspur in the final of the UEFA Champions League next month.

With only days now left in the preparation for the big match in Madrid, the Liverpool squad will be gathering for more intense training as the club aims for its sixth European title and the first Champions League triumph since 2005.

Liverpool have not necessarily been plagued by many injuries this season, even though in the final weeks of the campaign, Jurgen Klopp has been given one or two worries in that department.

Star midfielder Naby Keita has been sweating over his fitness over the past couple of weeks and it remains very much an uncertainty whether he will be fit for the trip to Madrid or not.

Jurgen Klopp has revealed that the ex-Bundesliga star might not make it despite his progress.

“Naby is, I would say, a bit ahead of schedule, but that doesn’t mean anything for the final.” Klopp said, as per the club’s official website

“He is now doing straight runs and all of that stuff, he feels comfortable with 50 per cent intensity and these things – but there is still a way to go.”
