Liverpool star Divock Origi has actually played a key role in the club’s continued chase of the Premier League title against Manchester City.
Last Sunday, Jurgen Klopp decided to call upon the striker as the Reds went after the winning goal of the game against Tottenham Hotspur after Lucas Moura had scored an equalizer.
The Belgium international made an appearance in all of Liverpool’s league games last month after his goal which came in the victory over Watford.
In all honestly, there was a time during last summer that most people expected Origi to be ditched by the club, with Daniel Sturridge already holding a place in the squad.
But the forward has made sure to stay in the plans of Jurgen Klopp, who has often gone with the inevitable of starting his fearsome front three of Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino.
Klopp though, has revealed that Origi’s efforts in training have been impressive.
“If we have the opportunity to play 11 v 11 and Div is in the other team then he’s a proper challenge to deal with.” Klopp told the club’s website.
“He can play two positions at least which is good. For us, it’s very important to keep the speed on the wing. His size is also important for defensive set-pieces.
“All credit to Div, he has done really well and it’s absolutely deserved. Not one second that he’s been given has been a present this season.”
