Liverpool close to agreeing deal for first team star to be sold

Liverpool are reportedly closing in on a deal for Ragnar Klavan to be sold before the shutting down of the European transfer window.

The Reds have begun the new season with a fine victory over West Ham and fans will be hoping to see that start continue as the race for the Premier League title takes shape.

Meanwhile, the fact that the transfer window has not been closed outside of the English top flight means a few departures may be completed before this month is over.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that Ragnar Klavan is on the verge of a move away from Anfield.

The 32-year-old is expected to secure a transfer to Italian side Calgiari after falling further down the pecking order at Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp has often maintained that players who are considered as surplus to requirements may be allowed to find an opportunity to play elsewhere
