A senior source at Liverpool has responded to rumours regarding a possible deal from the Reds which would see them complete a move for Sergio Ramos from Real Madrid.
The Spanish star has been at loggerheads with the Madrid hierarchy after a disappointing season for the club, which came to an early end as they were knocked out of the Champions League by Ajax.
Ramos is understood to be considering one more big move in his career, and Jurgen Klopp’s side have emerged as one of the surprise names thrown into the pool of transfer gossip.
In fact, Spanish source AS have claimed that the Reds are working on a transfer deal to sign the combative Spaniard this summer, in a move which would see Klopp gain an experienced option in his defence.
However, a senior source of the club has told the British media that Liverpool are certainly not interested in the signing of Ramos by any means.
“There is 0.0 percent chance of Sergio Ramos playing for Liverpool.” a reported senior member of the club said, as quoted by the Daily Star
“It has nothing to do with what happened in Kiev last season.”
Ramos is also not a man whom Liverpool fans are fond of, after he played a decisive role in the incident which saw Mohamed Salah leave the game early with an injured shoulder during last year’s Champions League final against Real Madrid.
