Liverpool are claimed to be still keen on a deal to bring back former midfielder Phillipe Coutinho to the club, after the Brazilian’s unsuccessful spell at Barcelona.
The 27-year-old moved to England in 2013 after leaving Inter Milan, and it only took a couple of years for Coutinho to fulfill his potential, becoming one of the most exciting playmakers to watch.
However, the Brazilian star opted to join Barcelona last year, in a move which handed the Reds a £142m profit to reinvest in the transfer market by purchasing defensive reinforcements like Virgil van Dijk and Alisson.
But with Coutinho’s career in Spain not going according to plan, Liverpool are claimed by French news outlet Le10 Sport to be open to securing a deal that would see the South American return to Anfield.
Coutinho recently admitted that he was not sure if he would be playing at Barca next year after a turbulent first full season at the Camp Nou.
“I don’t know if I will continue at Barcelona,” he said, as per Marca
“Nobody knows about the future, and right now I am focused on playing with my [national] team [at the Copa America].”
