Maddock claims Liverpool man ‘could be out for a while’, ruled out of Saturday’s game

The Liverpool squad is still not in an ideal shape with it being so early in the season, and Saturday’s clash with Arsenal will be another test for the Reds as they look to improve their level of fitness for another long campaign.

Jurgen Klopp was missing a few of his key players for the trip to Southampton over the weekend and it looks as though the situation will not change quickly enough, ahead of the showdown against Arsenal.

Star midfielder Naby Keita appears set for an extended period on the sidelines with a hip problem that he suffered prior to the clash with Chelsea in the European Super Cup.

As per a claim by the Mirror journalist, David Maddock, Keita “could be out for a while” with his continued injury woes.

The 24-year-old was troubled by injuries during his debut season at Anfield, and his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations with Guinea was also restricted by fitness worries, as he reported back to Liverpool earlier than expected ahead of the season.

David Maddock’s report suggests that Keita will definitely miss this weekend’s affair against Arsenal and he remains unlikely to return to action soon.
