Matip still gets an 8: Player Ratings from Liverpool vs Bayern

A fairly quiet night for the Brazilian but did well when called upon.

Trent-Alexander Arnold – 7

The youngster did well to contain Frank Ribery on Bayern’s left flank and had a decent game overall.

Joel Matip – 8

Despite the own goal, The Cameroonian had a solid game in defense and played a huge part in dealing with Lewandowski

Virgil van Dijk – 9

Solid as usual in defense, the Dutchman scored Liverpool’s second and made a brilliant tackle to deny Bayern’s number 9.

Andrew Robertson – 7

A needless booking rules him out of the next game but had a fairly decent game down the left-hand side.

Georgino Wijnaldum – 6

Started off poorly but improved as the game went on. The former Newcastle man did well to contain James Rodriguez throughout the game.

Fabinho – 7

The Brazilian came on for Henderson inside the first 15 minutes and had a solid game in the centre of the park

James Milner – 6

Was not his usual self after a few poor passes but held his position well and was hard working as always.

Sadio Mane – 9.5

Man of the match and 2 goal hero, Mane was on a different level on the night and embarrassed Neuer with his brilliance on the ball.

Mo Salah – 8

Worked really hard throughout the game and his pass for Mane’s second was a thing of beauty.

Roberto Firmino – 6

Quiet game for the Brazilian on the ball but pressed really well throughout the game.
