Mourinho predicts what Porto could do to Liverpool

Former Chelsea and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has given his verdict on what he is expecting out of the Champions League tie between Liverpool and FC Porto next week.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were in truth the most exciting team in the UEFA Champions League last season as they reached the final of the competition where they were undeservedly beaten 3-1 by Real Madrid.

That defeat to the Spanish giants has not held back the Reds this year, and along with their challenge for the title, Liverpool have legitimate hopes of winning the Champions League once again.

The Reds have made it to the quarterfinals of the competition where they will now face Portuguese contenders FC Porto in a two-legged affair this month.

Some may see Liverpool as the favourites in the tie against Porto but ex-Premier League manager Jose Mourinho actually believes the Reds’ opponents have a reasonable chance of winning this one.

“FC Porto have a chance,” Mourinho said, as quoted by Football365

“Compared with last season, I think Sérgio Conceição will ask himself questions about what happened in order to do something different this time around.

“The tie is open and what happened last year, I believe, can play for Porto in both games.

“Liverpool have an absolutely fantastic individual quality. They are disputing the league title, which means that in the previous game or between the two games, they will not rest players.”
