Liverpool urged to sign £100m attacker after exit of Reds star

Following the departure of Daniel Sturridge, Liverpool hero John Aldridge has picked out the player whom he believes the Reds should pursue as a replacement for the Englishman, in what he has deemed as an ‘opportuinity’ for Jurgen Klopp.

Sturridge’s exit does open up the space on the wave bill for the Liverpool manager to purchase a new forward, who can chip in with some goals when the the likes of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino are either misfiring or not fit.

Perhaps Crystal Palace star Wilfred Zaha, despite being extremely overpriced at £100m (Standard), could be the ideal addition for Klopp.

The 26-year-old has adequate experience in the Premier League and that is effectively the reason why he has such an expensive price tag.

Liverpool hero John Aldridge believes the Reds should take a chance on signing Zaha to replace Sturridge in the squad of the newly-crowned champions of Europe.

“With Daniel Sturridge leaving the club and his huge wages coming off the weekly bill, it opens up the opportunity for Klopp to sign an out-and-out goalscorer who could offer something different if one of the front three is injured or out of form.” Aldridge said, as quoted by talkSPORT

“Zaha has given Liverpool some real problems in the last couple of years and Klopp’s ability to turn talents of his type into consistent performers has to make him the kind of player who could thrive at Anfield.”
