Paul Ince reveals the three moments that convinced him Liverpool will win title

Ex-footballer Paul Ince has picked out three moments from this season which have convinced him that Liverpool will indeed go on to lift the Premier League title.

Jurgen Klopp’s side is two points clear of Manchester City, who do have a game in hand, with only a handful of games left in the season as the title race heads towards a climax.

The Reds were actually more points ahead of Pep Guardiola’s side earlier in the season, prior to their only defeat of the campaign which came at the Etihad stadium.

Liverpool are still counting on rival clubs like Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur to stop City in upcoming fixtures in order to have any hopes of maintaining their hold of top spot.

Klopp’s men do not have their fate in their own hands, but Paul Ince insists he has seen enough already to believe that the title is indeed destined for Anfield.

“Against Everton when Jordan Pickford made that mistake, or against Fulham with the penalty, or Shane Long’s mistake last week.” Ince told Paddy Power News.

“Things are happening for them, that make me believe it’s their year.

“Decisions are falling for them, and that’s what you need in the title race. You need those decisions and the luck on your side.

“Liverpool aren’t even playing particularly well in the league, it’s scrappy to watch, but the end result is still the same – three points.

“They have got to go on and win it now. Chelsea is a crucial game for them because of previous memories they’ve had in the title charge.

“I honestly believe Liverpool will win it this season. Everything is on their side.”
