Pearce claims Liverpool are ‘closing in’ on first signing of summer

Journalist James Pearce has claimed that Liverpool are closing in on their first acquisition of the summer transfer window, a week ahead of the Champions League final.

Jurgen Klopp is still putting his team together for the final of the most elite club competition in football against Tottenham Hotspur at the start of next month.

The Liverpool boss may have the clash with Spurs on his mind at the moment but since the summer transfer window has already been opened, plans about new signings have to be made as well.

The Reds look to have already made a move towards securing their first summer arrival with a deal to sign highly-rated young Polish goalkeeper Jakub Ojrzynski reportedly close.

Liverpool Echo journalist James Pearce is claiming that Liverpool are ‘closing in’ on a deal to complete the purchase of Ojrzynski for a fee of £200,000.

The 16-year-old goalkeeper will be moving to Anfield from Legia Warsaw this summer after Liverpool’s success in shrugging off competition from Manchester United, Valencia and Juventus in the race for his signature.
