Reputable journalist claims Liverpool will make one first-team signing this summer

Journalist Chris Bascombe has claimed that Liverpool are planning on securing the addition of at least one new face before the summer transfer window is closed.

Virgil van Dijk and Alisson were both signed last year as Jurgen Klopp moved swiftly to strengthen his squad with the target of challenging for major honours the next season.

The Liverpool boss was rewarded for his investment in the transfer market as he watched his side become champions of Europe, after defeating Tottenham Hotspur in the final of the Champions League last month.

The Reds will be looking forward to another season of potential glory but some fans may be wondering why the club is yet to secure any major new signings with not too long left before the season starts next month.

According to Chris Bascombe, Liverpool are planning on making one new addition this summer, with Klopp’s side already boasting star talent like Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

“Liverpool plan to make a first-team signing in this transfer window and despite Klopp’s description of returning players as ‘like new arrivals’ a little freshening up would be reassuring.” he said in the Telegraph
