Former Tottenham Hotspur star Jamie O’Hara has claimed that there is a possibility of Liverpool inflicting more damage on Spurs, following the Champions League final in Madrid a couple of weeks ago.
After missing out on winning the Premier League title for the first time in several decades as Manchester City were crowned champions, Liverpool consoled themselves by lifting the Champions League title.
The Reds produced a very pragmatic display in Madrid to defeat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0, as the club registered the sixth European crown in its long history.
With the summer transfer window now open, Jamie O’Hara believes Liverpool could do more damage to Spurs by luring their key midfielder Christian Eriksen to Anfield.
The 27-year-old has refused to extend his contract with Mauricio Pochettino’s side, raising more doubts over his commitment to the north London side.
And with that being the case, O’Hara says he has a ‘sneaky suspicion’ about Liverpool taking the chance to sign Eriksen.
“(Liverpool) need a central midfielder player. I’ve got a sneaky suspicion that they might try and take Eriksen from Tottenham as he’s in the last year on his deal,” O’Hara said, as quoted by HITC
“He’s the type of player they need.”
