Champions League club confirms capture of Liverpool target in over £50m deal

The Reds are now on holidays after arguably the most memorable night at the club in over a decade on Saturday as they defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in the final of the UEFA Champions League.

Snubbed by Jurgen Klopp for the final was Daniel Sturridge, who could not even get a chance to make a cameo during the second half of the game.

The Englishman’s departure will be opening the door for the Liverpool manager to possibly sign a striker to shore up his attacking weaponry this summer.

That is why the Reds were in pursuit (Bleacher Report) of a deal to sign Luka Jovic, but on Tuesday, it was confirmed by Real Madrid that the 21-year-old would rather be joining Zinedine Zidane’s side.

Jovic’s move to the Santiago Bernabeu will cost the Spanish side over £50million (BBC), a price which Liverpool could have afforded to pay after the revenue from their recent Champions League success.

The striker managed to score 27 goals in 48 games over the course of last season.
