‘Take him ahead of Firmino’: Murphy claims £200k-a-week star would be better at Liverpool

Pundit and former footballer Danny Murphy has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane would be an upgrade over Liverpool’s current number 9 if he was to move to Anfield in the future.

The likes of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohammed Salah have formed a very formidable frontline at the club which has seen Jurgen Klopp’s side rise to the very top of European football’s rankings.

But there are occasions when the Reds appear to be missing a traditional striker up front, with Firminio happening to be the least prolific out of Liverpool’s current attacking trio.

That is where Danny Murphy believes Tottenham striker Harry Kane, a £200,000 a week star as per the Telegraph, could fit straight into the Liverpool team if he were to hypothetically move to the club.

The England international has been the talisman of Spurs ever since he broke into the first team under Mauricio Pochettino and Murphy has suggested that Kane would be an upgrade on Firminio.

“He’s certainly capable of playing in any team in the world. He has the lot already. He is the finished article. He has a strong mentality. Physically very good, and when he’s fit and at it, he is one of the best. I think he has a big decision to make.” Murphy was quoted as saying by TBR

“If Kane were to be in City or Liverpool’s team they aren’t going to be any weaker, are they? No. He could play instead of Aguero. And I think you would take him ahead of Firmino. I don’t want that to underestimate Firmino’s importance to Liverpool, but if you were Jurgen Klopp and you said you can have Kane? He’d score more goals.”
