Vinnie Jones has raved about the Liverpool team for their “Rolls Royce” performance in the massive 2-0 home win over rivals Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.
Even though the Blues threatened to stop Liverpool from taking all of the three points in the first half of the game, a crazy pair of minutes after the start of the second half saw the likes of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah hit the back of the net.
It was a performance which has seen Jones suggest that the Reds looked like the Liverpool team “of old” as they continue to keep up with Manchester City in the long race for the Premier League title.
Speaking after Liverpool’s win over Chelsea at Anfield, the former footballer was full of praise for Jurgen Klopp’s men, who are currently two points clear of Pep Guardiola’s side at the top of the Premier League table.
Jones has also suggested that Salah is simply unstoppable after the Egyptian star’s stunner in the 2-0 victory.
“They look in winning form – they look like the Liverpool of old,” Jones said on Alan Brazil’s Sports Breakfast on talkSPORT.
“They dominated that game [against Chelsea]. I just thought Liverpool were Rolls-Royce, I really did. A few games to go and Mo Salah scores a goal like that – he’s just going to be unstoppable.”
