Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has made his interest clear again, concerning the possibility of signing Liverpool’s Ryan Kent to work with him at Ibrox for another season.
Gerrard was of course a talisman for the Reds during his career at Anfield, which was brought to end in 2015 as he entered the twilight of his long career.
The former England international is now making a name for himself as a manager at Rangers, and his connection with Liverpool has given him the chance to steal some talent – usually on a temporary basis – from the Reds.
Gerrard was able to work with Liverpool talent Ryan Kent over the course of last season and the SPL side’s manager appears to be interested in repeating that relationship.
The ex-Liverpool midfielder has admitted that he would like to complete a deal to have Kent back at the club for another year at least.
“Yes, we would like Ryan Kent back. He’s Liverpool’s player, so we have to respect that. Jurgen Klopp, I’m sure, will want to take a look at Ryan. We’ll respect Liverpool’s decision but we are at the table.” Gerrard told Sky Sports.
“We love the player. We feel we’ve done a good job on him for 12 months. We still feel there’s more to come. There is competition.”
